Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift (Unlock and Recruit all Classes) |
|
UNLOCK ALL CLASSES / RECRUIT ALL CLASSES
> Seven Races, approx 50 different classes, here’s a compilation of what you have to achieve to unlock and reach all class in the game. With each race description we’ll give our personal class favourite. >Don’t forget, that the good management of your units is the key for the win in FFTA2. To simplify your reflexion, you have to keep in mind a goal for each of your character. For example pick up three humans and give them a class goal: “this one is gonna be my Paladin, this one will be my Seer and this last one will be my Ninja”.
> Focus your attention on how to go to the class you select, and don’t forget the reaction and passive ability they can gather from other class too (only if they’re simple to master: the Counter Thief ability, that you will master via the Chainmail, have to be on your paladin!). You’ll rapidly have lots of possibility for your characters but don’t forget your goal, you will save a great amount of time specializing units. > The other thing you have to remember while specializing your unit is the second Action Ability you’ll use, in other terms the second class you have to build for your character. On this matter it’s really up to you, but keep in mind that give Black mage ability to a Paladin can be less interesting than giving him a non mana based ability, for example Fighter.
> Here’s a compilation of what you have to achieve to reach the class you prefer. Each time we give you a personal advice for the type of classes WE choose for our own characters.
> About the “Recruitment on the map” sections: each race can be recruited on the map at different period. You’ll be able to recruit only one race per area and per year. The place where you recruit them is important because it’s going to define the class you can have. For example you can recruit Hume Soldier, Thief, White Mage, Black Mage or Archer in Targ Forest during Blackfrost or Skyfrost months. > As we haven’t already check all the class possibility we give you only location. If you really want to choose your class here’s a tips: go in the area, save before entering the question mark, if the class is ok, keep it; if you’re not okay with the result, load your game. Keep in mind that certain class will not be available on the map even if they’re available in your “change jobs” section. In that case advance in the storyline.
> Last tips before we start: you HAVE to experience Adelle or you’ll regret it far in the game. We warned you!
HUME | > Nice versatile race that we preferred to focus on close combat races: Paladin for the defensive abilities and Fighters for nice damage. > The combo Parivir/Ninja is deadliest too (Dual Wield rulz!), but their defensive skills are pretty poor.
> On the mana side don’t forget the Seer and the Blue mage. The seer is an excellent support class, and the Blue Mage can be very interesting at high levels for his complete skills. For the Blue Mage don’t forget that, because you have to be hit by monster skills, you HAVE to couple it with a Nu Mou Beasmaster to force the beasts to hit you.
> Recruitment on the map: You will be able to recruit Humes during the Blackfrost and Skyfrost months. Head for Targ Forest, Galerria Deep or Sant D'alsa Bluff. |
Soldier (no requirements) Thief (requires 1 mastered SOLDIER action ability) White Mage (no requirements) Black Mage (requires 1 mastered WHITE MAGE action ability) Archer (requires 1 mastered SOLDIER action ability) Paladin (requires 3 mastered SOLDIER action abilities) Fighter (requires 3 mastered SOLDIER action abilities + complete the quest “To Be a Soldier”) Parivir (requires 3 mastered FIGHTER action abilities + complete quest “The East Watch” Ninja (requires 4 THIEF action abilities) Illusionist (requires 2 mastered WHITE MAGE and 4 mastered BLACK MAGE action abilities) Blue Mage (requires 1 mastered BLACK MAGE action ability) Hunter (required 3 mastered ARCHER action abilities) Seer (requires 4 mastered WHITE MAGE action abilities + complete the quest “Cat’s Meow”)
BANGAA> You want a nice melee fighter? Then pick up a Bangaa! > Master Monk is a must have and the warrior can be really interesting if you don’t have any Hume already specialised. > > Gladiator have range problem during the early levels but can be quite interesting if coupled with a White Monk and his Air Render ability. If they have speed problems, the Templar is a great class for support. > On the mana side you can try the Trickster/Bishop combo, pretty cool vs undead opponents, but let magic to your Hume Viera or Nu Mou characters !
> Recruitment on the map: You will be able to recruit Bangaa during the Greenfire and Bloodfire months. Head for Baptiste Hills or Aisenfield
Warrior (no requirements) White Mage (no requirements) Dragoon (requires 2 mastered WARRIOR action abilities + complete the quest “Kyrra, Dragoon”) Defender (requires 2 mastered GLADIATOR action abilities) Gladiator (requires 2 mastered WARRIOR action abilities) Master Monk (requires 2 mastered WARRIOR and 2 mastered WHITE MONK action abilities + complete the quest “Banbangaa”) Bishop (requires 2 mastered WHITE MONK action abilities) Templar (requires 2 mastered BISHOP action abilities) Cannoneer (requires 2 mastered DRAGOON action abilities + complete the quest “The Banga Brotherhood”)) Trickster (requires 2 mastered MASTER MONK actions abilities + complete the quest “Sleight of Hand”)
GRIA> Ravager is certainly the best class for Gria but don’t forget to build a Geomancer who base their skills on the place they stand.
> Recruitment on the map: You will be able to recruit Gria during the Emberleaf and Plumfrost months. Head for Fluorgis and Zedlei Forst
Hunter (no requirements) Raptor (requires 1 mastered HUNTER + complete the quest “Instrument of Inspiration”) Ravager (requires 1 mastered HUNTER + complete the quest “Ravager” Geomancer (requires 1 mastered HUNTER + complete the four parts of the “Geomancer’s Way” quest : Mist, Rain, Snow, Sun)
NU MOU | > Nu Mou is simply the best magic users in the game. We started to focus our Nu Mou partners on White and Black Magics (for healing and elemental damage skills) to rapidly switch on the Alchemist (for item command) and Sage class (Reflex and Ultima Blow are extremely powerful). > Don’t forget to build a Nu Mou Beastmaster if you plan to grow a Hume Blue Mage and be very careful if you decide to boost a Scholar: damaging ALL units can be deadly for you too. By the way forget now the Illusionist and Arcanist classes, not really interesting.
> Recruitment on the map: You will be able to recruit Nu Mou during the Rosefire and Coppersun months. Head for Graszton, Moorabella and Nazan Mines. |
White Mage (no requirements) Black Mage (no requirements) Beastmaster (requires to complete the quest “Knowing the Beast” Time Mage (requires 5 mastered BLACK MAGE action abilities) Illusionist (requires 4 mastered BLACK MAGE and 2 mastered WHITE MAGE action abilities) Alchemist (requires 2 mastered ILLUSIONIST action abilities) Arcanist (requires 2 mastered TIME MAGE action abilities + complete the quest “The Nu Mou Nobles”) Sage (requires 2 mastered WHITE MAGE and 1 mastered BEASTMASTER action abilities) Scholar (requires 1 mastered SAGE and 2 mastered TIME MAGE action abilities + complete the quest “Treasured Tomes”)
MOOGLE> Certainly not the most impressive race in the game but can offer interesting alternatives to your main characters. First, their thieves are really speed then the Fusilier and the Flintlock can be pretty usefull at higher levels (don’t forget the Ultima Charge from Moogle Knight). > And of course you HAVE to try the Chocobo Knights! > Tinker and Juggler are… strange class, don’t spend too much time in it. And prefere Nu Mou for Black or Time Mages.
> Recruitment on the map: You will be able to recruit Moogle during the Goldsun and Silversun months. Head for Bisga Greelands, Goug, or Neslowe Passage.
Animist (no requirements) Thief (no requirements) Black Mage (no requirements) Moogle Knight (requires 1 mastered ANIMIST action ability) Fusilier (requires 1 mastered ANIMIST action ability + complete the quest “The Goug Consortium”) Juggler (requires 2 mastered TINKER action abilities) Tinker (requires 2 mastered THIEF action abilities) Time Mage (requires 5 mastered BLACK MAGE action abilities) Chocobo Knight (requires 2 mastered ANIMIST action abilities + complete the quest “Popocho’s Chocobos”) Flintlock (requires 2 mastered TINKER and 2 mastered FUSILIER action abilities + complete the quest “Of Kupos and Cannons”)
SEEQ> Good compromise can be made with a Lanista (offensive and defensive warrior) but we preferred to focus on the Berseker coupled with a Viking (for Pillage). > We didn’t find any interest on the Ranger class… > Recruitment on the map: You will be able to recruit SEEQ during the Emberleaf and Plumfrost months. Head for Aldanna Range, Targ Wood or Tramdine Fens.
Berserker (no requirements) Ranger (no requirements) Lanista (requires 1 mastered BERSERKER + complete the quest “A Lanista’s Pride”) Viking (requires 1 mastered RANGER + complete the quest “Lord Grayl !”)
VIERA | > Nice versatile race like Human: can be a nice caster and a pretty good ranged fighter because of their high speed. > We focused on Summoner (great support unit), Red Mage (Doublecast is a must have) and Sniper/Assassin (one of the best ranged unit in the game with his Doubleshot).
> Elementalist, Green Mage and Spellblade abilities are great but only for a second ability option.
> Recruitment on the map (only after you accomplish “The Moon Seal” quest): You will be able to recruit Viera during the Ashleaf and Mistleaf months. Head for Camoa or The Rupie Montains.
|
